Adult Formation
Adult Formation is “the axis around which revolves the catechesis of childhood, adolescence and old age”. Our Lady of the Valley offers adult Catholics a variety of programs year around to enhance their knowledge and understanding of their faith journey. Scriptural studies, courses, prayer groups, missions and other special activities are some of the ways in which the adult population of Our Lady of the Valley enriches their knowledge and understanding of the faith. Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us, the 1999 pastoral letter of the Bishops of the United States emphasizes the importance of Adult formation. Adult faith formation, by which people consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer, and study, must be the central task in catechetical enterprise, becoming the axis around which revolves the catechesis of childhood and adolescence as well as that of old age.
